Schmuhl Brothers is hiring City/Local Owner Operators for their

Kansas City location!

Schedule expectations

• This position hours vary depending on the driver’s assignment. City, local and Regional drivers are home nightly.
• OTR drivers are home 3 – 4 nights a week and the Long-haul drivers are home weekly.
• This is a non-exempt, DOT position. Pay is straight time only.
• Drivers meetings are quarterly, required and on Saturdays.
• The expected work week is a min. of 50 hours with a maximum of 70 hours.

Duties

• Maintain running log
• Maintain e-logs
• Ensure all paperwork is properly filled out and turned in daily (or when in offices, at min. weekly)
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections
• Ensure safety of each load you pick up and drop off
• Maintain safety in and out of truck

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Good communication skill
• Good customer service skill
• The ability to read and write in English
• The ability to understand and follow directions verbally, gps and written
• The ability to read a map

Special requirement

• Class A CDL
• Hazmat and tanker endorsements are preferred but not required

Education

• GED or High school Diploma – required

Experience

•  2 Years CDL driving is required
• Must be at least 24 years old
• Intermodal experience is preferred but not required
